How we bought a fur coat in the UAE (Dubai)
I've been meaning to write this review for over a year now... But better late than never!
I’ll say right away that I bought the fur coat I wanted and I’m happy with it! Details below 
So, it was during the New Year holidays in January 2011. My husband and I spontaneously decided to go on vacation to the UAE, chose a good hotel on the shores of the Persian Gulf (in the emirate of Ajman), and began preparing for the trip. And then it occurred to me that many people praise the UAE for shopping, and I thought about buying a fur coat. I looked at links and reviews on the Internet, and took printouts with addresses. And let's go
We immediately refused to go in a group from the host of the tour; in principle, we are not fans of such group trips. We decided to go ourselves one day (considering that we had passwords for appearances). We took a taxi and arrived at the well-known Nasser Square... I can honestly say that I did not expect what I saw. Some kind of mixture of modern glass buildings and some strange buildings, hung with various advertisements and signs, some merchants scurrying around, there are benches with various equipment (somehow it reminded me of the times of perestroika here), and the worst thing is, all around “Russians” rush in with the question: “Do you want fur coats?”, and very intrusively... I can say that I have been to different countries, including calmly walking around Cairo with my girlfriend at the age of 22 (by no means the most peaceful place ), but I have never it was somehow as scary as it was then near Deira. Let’s just say that I had the feeling that I was in such a large Aprashka, spread over several streets, and I really had the feeling that now someone was stealing something from you. In general, I had a death grip on my husband, and I no longer wanted any fur coat :))) Well, of course, he tells me where we are going, I take out these printouts, and basically there is a list of stores in Deira, then there were good reviews on Ego, Naomi and Dolce Moda.
We went to this Deira (Deira). I’ll say right away that I didn’t like it there at all. Moreover, you won’t immediately understand how to climb to floors above the 2nd, because... The main entrance is located just in the building, which is limited to 2 floors, and there are literally 2-3 fur coat stores, the rest is the sale of some kind of audio, video and other equipment.. It’s just that later we realized that we need to go deeper and there is an elevator ( I don’t remember exactly the road, but I remember one thing - it didn’t look immediately obvious ) When I read the reviews, I thought, well, a real shopping center, like we are used to. And these are the multi-storey shops of Aprashka, and the bulk of the shops are located in some strange, dirty, unkempt corridors, from the outside it just looks like a door to a warehouse. The feeling of the majesty of fur immediately disappears. When you go inside these “warehouses” it looks different: some just have two floors of long hangers with narrow aisles, while others are more spacious, others claim to be luxurious. In a couple of these stores (well, because they had already arrived), I tried on something awkward made from mink, and we left from there. Firstly, the appearance is absolutely intimidating, and secondly, they didn’t offer me anything interesting. Perhaps there is something good there - I can’t say (maybe if you go purposefully on a tip to a specific store), but, indeed, the general feeling of a dump discourages any desire to buy anything.
We left there and decided to look for Ego, Naomi and Dolce. On the way, they again pestered us a hundred times with “would you like a fur coat?”, we answered that no thanks were needed, so they were also offended (that’s what I don’t like!).
As a result, we found a separate Ego store. He, of course, looked completely different, it became somehow easier. But again I started trying on, well, nothing really fit. But I was looking for a simple one - a sheared or plucked mink, a hood and above the knee, because I am constantly driving and a long one doesn’t suit me, and in any case, a short one is more practical, in my case for sure. One fur coat was very good, but... mine was too small for me, although the seller assured me that it looked great on me (I don’t know if I can trust it here). I doubted it, the seller didn’t bother with me for a long time and didn’t bother, she switched to others. And there were enough people there. We left there and decided that if anything happens, maybe we'll come back. The store itself is two-story, on the first floor there are various women's fur coats, on the second there is leather, some sheepskin coats, some men's models. But somehow it seemed to me that the quality there is simpler than on the first floor.
On the way we stopped at a separate Braski store. From the outside it seems that they sell good fur coats there, but the selection is very small and there was nothing that I would have liked, so we left. It was already so dark outside by that time.
But Dolce Moda and Naomi were never found...
I was upset at the end, well, I decided, okay, buying a fur coat was not an end in itself and we won’t do it anymore.
The next day, the husband says, in the end it turns out that there are two stores left that have good reviews. Let's call there. Well, I say, call me, I don’t want anything. As a result, my husband got through to Dolce Moda. They sent a car for us, and my husband said that we were just looking and buying, not a fact that we would buy it. A young man came to pick us up in a good car and drove us with a breeze. His name is Vladimir, his mother is Russian, his father is Greek, naturally, he speaks excellent Russian, he told us about the UAE. In short, the trip to Dubai was pleasant. Vladimir brought us to the store, it turned out that it was essentially located not far from Nasser Square, a separate two-story store. Vladimir also took us to a store owned by their owner, but, honestly, we didn’t really like it there, there weren’t any models like I wanted, and we only asked to go to this Dolce Moda. I really liked it there! Spacious store and large selection. I tried on a bunch of fur coats there, two salespeople served me at once and gave me practical advice. There were models that I fell in love with and, naturally, wanted to buy! In the end, I settled on two black fur coats (plucked mink) with Barguzin sable, one had a hooded collar, the other simply had an English collar. In the end, I chose the one with a hood (more practical after all), made in Italy, and decided for the one with English - I’ll be back! Then I started trying on light fur coats and the “bat” model really suited me (but I wasn’t looking at this one for myself, but for my mother-in-law), made in Greece. In total, we spent 2-3 hours in the store. In the end, we bought two fur coats. The owner just came - the Greek Denisos (I think that was his name, unfortunately, I forgot...) and we started haggling with him, while drinking a cup of tea, we haggled for a long time, we negotiated for about 40% and we got both fur coats for 5000 dollars. They packed everything for us and loaded us into the car and Vladimir brought us back to the hotel. In my opinion, everything turned out very well . The only point worth paying attention to is that if you pay with a card, they charge 2%, be sure to keep this in mind! I've been wearing my fur coat for the second season now, and it's like new! I like it very much!!!
