How to “fluff” the fur on the hood of children's outerwear? Instructions for retail stores

With the onset of the warm period of the year, every housewife cleans her outerwear and puts it in the closet for storage. But after 5-6 months, when it’s time to wear warm clothes again and it’s time to take jackets and fur coats out of the closets, many discover that the fur on the collars is caked. There are methods to restore fur trim to its former attractiveness. Professionals will tell you about all the secrets and methods of fluffing fur.

Fur collar

Bringing back the attractiveness of fur

So, if, after being removed from the closet or due to exposure to rain or snow, the fur on the jacket has lost its original appearance, it is necessary to dry the product. There is no need to use open heat for drying. The ideal option is to hang a fur coat made from an arctic fox, mink or rabbit on a hanger away from heating appliances. After drying, the fur should be combed without much effort.

To fluff up the fur on the hood, you can use steaming. However, it is important not to over-moisten the dressing. It’s great if you have a special steamer or an iron with a steaming function at home. To restore and fluff up rabbit fur, the steam flow should be kept at a distance of 50-60 cm from the fur surface.

To preserve the beauty of natural arctic fox, mink or rabbit fur, it is important to remember that this material is sensitive to high temperatures. This means that a fur coat made from natural fibers is dried at room temperature. Under no circumstances should the product be placed on a heating radiator.

Cleaning away dirt

If you come home from the street and find that there are drops of dirt on the collar of your jacket, there is no need to rush to clean the fur. It is better to let the product dry naturally at room temperature, and then carefully comb the patch, trying to clean the surface of dirt.

  • hairspray,
  • perfume,
  • toilet water.

Any perfume that comes into contact with fur contributes to the formation of tangles, which are very difficult to fluff up at home.

If lumps of dirt still form on the fur. If the villi have become tangled, it is recommended to use alcohol to clean them. Taking cotton wool, you need to moisten it in alcohol and gently wipe the fur collar. You need to act very carefully, moving the cotton in the direction of the growth of the villi.

After washing

Housewives know that if you wash a jacket with a fur hood, then after drying the fur will look like the quills of a large hedgehog. To prevent this and fluff up the faux or natural fur, it is recommended to wash the fur trim with animal shampoo. If you don't have one on hand, you can use regular shampoo.

At home, you can fluff up the fur of the Arctic fox by rinsing it in a vinegar solution. A weak solution of vinegar will return the fur trim to its former attractiveness and make the trim fluffy and soft.

Steam

Straighten your fur at home using hot steam. How to do it? The pile of a fur coat that has become wrinkled can be straightened out by hanging the product on a wooden hanger in the bathroom. The bath is pre-filled with hot water. Do not under any circumstances wet the short fur coat with the collar. If the fibers are barely wrinkled, after the procedure in the bathroom, you can hang the product in the dressing room or other room without large windows for further drying. Why should you avoid a lot of sunlight in the place where the mink coat dries? It's just that the sun's rays can cause dark fur to fade. The ideal option would be to dry the product in a draft. If this option does not work, and the pile still remains unstraightened, then you can additionally stroke it with a comb with rare teeth or using your hand. And then shake well. Fur industry professionals never use an iron to steam mink hair.

We store it correctly

To avoid having to think about how to fluff up the fur trim on your jacket when the cold weather sets in, it is important to follow the rules for storing outerwear. Jackets and fur coats cannot be stored folded. These clothes are hung on hangers and stored in the closet.

Under no circumstances do we use a polyethylene cover. It is best to buy for a fur coat:

  • paper or
  • fabric cover.

It is important to prevent direct sunlight from hitting the fur trim. Under the influence of the sun, artificial and natural fur can fade, lose its shine and attractiveness.

Reasons for the loss of appearance of mink fur

The main danger of losing the appearance of a mink lies in wait for the owners of this beautiful outfit in the summer. More than one woman, at the end of autumn, preparing her mink coat for winter wear, notices that the appearance of the product is completely unattractive. There are several reasons for this phenomenon:

  • dishonesty of employees of the storage facility where the product was left;
  • being in a closet with a lot of other clothes;
  • the fur coat was folded all summer;
  • they put the new thing in the closet without airing it, forgetting to comb the pile after wearing it.

In conclusion

If the fur trim of the collar on any outerwear has lost its attractiveness, any housewife can restore its former beauty. At home, it is recommended to moisten the edge of the jacket using a steamer, dry it and comb it.

If there is dirt and tangles on the fur, the material should be wiped with cotton wool soaked in alcohol. If it is necessary to wash the fur, it is recommended to use animal shampoo and a vinegar rinse solution.

Method No. 1

To straighten the fur of a fur coat that is a little caked, you need to hang it on a special hanger and place it in a well-ventilated place. It is advisable to choose a room with high air humidity, for example in the bathroom. Further actions:

  1. To do this, fill the bath with hot water to create as much steam as possible.
  2. Leave the fur coat in the bathroom for an hour. After some time, the fur should straighten out and take its original shape.

Method No. 2

If this measure does not help, use another method that will help you straighten your mink coat - use a garment steamer.

To avoid damaging the fur you want to straighten with hot steam when using this device, follow the instructions that came with this tool. By the way, sellers in fur salons use a clothing steamer when they hang out fur coats after storage in warehouses.

Before you steam caked fur, comb it with a special comb against the direction of the pile. Do this smoothly, without exerting force, so as not to break the fibers. It is not recommended to replace the steamer with a regular iron, since you risk scorching areas of the fur, and the scorch will stand out brightly against the background of the entire fur fabric.

If you iron the inside of a fur coat in order to straighten its fur, you risk drying out the inside and it will become dry and hard. This will lead to the singed area becoming puffy and the appearance of the fur coat will be irrevocably damaged. And this is at best! In the worst case, the flesh will crack and a hole will appear in this place, as if from a cut. But that's not what you wanted, is it?

The same applies to a hair dryer. It is highly not recommended to use it to dry a fur coat that has been wet by rain or sleet. You need to dry your fur coat naturally, away from heating devices, but not with a hair dryer, iron or radiator.

On a note

: before steaming the caked fur of a fur coat, experts recommend treating it with a special solution made from water and alcohol. It is used to remove dirt after winter and restore the natural shine of fur.

Method No. 3

You can also straighten the caked fur of a fur coat if you take it out into the cold for several hours. This way you will not only straighten the fur, but also destroy the pest larvae living in it.

– skin beetles and moths, on which even a small sub-zero temperature has a detrimental effect. To do this, lightly knock out the inside of the fur coat by tapping on the lining.

On a note:

Avoid exposing the fur to direct sunlight. This can cause the fur in these areas to fade and in relation to other parts of the fur coat, it will look lighter and faded.

Also, yellowness appears on light fur from ultraviolet radiation. The most suitable colors for this are blue, white and some pastel fur tones.

Bring back the beauty of your favorite thing

It is quite easy to cope with the situation if the villi have simply settled down a little over a long period of storage, having lost their former fluffiness. The housewife should hang the product on hangers in the open air and let it air for several days. Periodically, the fur needs to be straightened, stroked against the pile, using a comb with metal teeth. If frosts have begun, the first snow has appeared, you should take your favorite thing out into the yard and gently rub it, trying to fluff up the fur.

In a more complex situation, when the fur cannot be fluffed beautifully even after the efforts made, it is worth using the most popular methods:

  • Give the product for dry cleaning, but only to an establishment that has been repeatedly tested for the quality of its services. Many similar companies offer this service and do a good job of fulfilling their obligations.
  • At home, remember the resuscitating effect of steam. It is enough to fill the bath with very hot water, and firmly fix the fur coat over the container so that it “steams” well. The doors close and the product remains in this position for some time. After the procedure, the fur coat is shaken and hung out to dry further in the cold. It’s good if you can arrange a slight draft in the room. Brushing in the direction of hair growth will help to completely fluff up the fur.
  • Fluff it by laying the product on a horizontal plane so that the fur coat is with the fur facing out. After moistening a clean sponge in water and squeezing it out, move along the hair growth line, as in the video. The slightly moistened pile is combed with gentle movements, the fur coat is vigorously shaken and hung out for further drying.

All three methods guarantee that the fur will definitely fluff up well, and your favorite thing will delight you with beauty again.

In the process of resuscitating a fur coat, you should not show fanaticism, forgetting that the main goal of the procedure is only to fluff up the fur and eliminate possible bruises. When dealing with the appearance of a product, you absolutely cannot:

  • If you allow too much moisture, the inner layer will become hard, and it will be almost impossible to return your outerwear to its normal state.
  • Hanging a fur coat in a bright light for the period of resuscitation - dark-colored fur will begin to fade, and light-colored fur will acquire an unpleasant yellowish tint.
  • Use chemical sprays with a drying effect - the villi will break, the fur will begin to shed, and the smell of the product will be so reliably absorbed that it will take a very long time to ventilate it or walk in a cloud of the aroma of the cleaning product.

Like any expensive item, a mink coat needs especially careful care. It is not too complicated and therefore, by adhering to basic rules, you will be able to preserve its unusual beauty for a long time.

A mink coat, like any natural fur, requires special care and compliance with operating rules. The material can be negatively affected by excessive humidity, rain and sleet, pungent odors, and too bright sun. If stored incorrectly, the fur may become wrinkled.

To clean and smooth a mink coat and return the product to a presentable appearance, it is better to go to a dry cleaner. However, many people prefer to carry out such procedures at home. Let's find out how to smooth a mink coat.

How to properly store a fur coat and vest made of natural fur

You need to store your fur coat on a hanger with wide shoulders in a special clothes bag, but not a cellophane one! However, it should not come into contact with other things. Also, it should not be exposed to direct sunlight.

  3. To straighten and ventilate your fur coat, take the fur item outside every month, hanging it in a well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight to prevent the fur from fading.

Surely every woman faces such a problem as the appearance of wrinkles on the fur, but you should not be upset, because you can correct the situation at home yourself.

How to seal a hole in a seam

If a certain element breaks in the seam area, you can repair the product yourself. To do this, it is recommended to do the following:

  1. Add the affected items.
  2. Place gauze or similar cloth on top.
  3. Secure all elements with pins.
  4. Fasten all the parts together using Moment glue. Another solution that is designed for gluing leather or suede is also suitable for this purpose.

If the procedure is performed correctly, it will be possible to restore the seam. Thanks to this, it will serve for a long period of time.

The best ways to fluff natural and faux fur

After summer

After summer storage, the natural fur of a fur coat, vest, collar (including a removable collar) or jacket hood should be straightened and fluffed. At home, this is done using a pet fur brush. You can and should comb the fur of animals such as mink, arctic fox, fox, and rabbit.

Another way to fluff up natural fur of a rabbit, mink, silver fox or arctic fox is to hold it over steam. You can also use a steamer. To fluff the fur, you need to hold the device at a distance of 50-60 cm from the surface of the fur.

After the fur gets wet

If the fur is stuck together after being exposed to rain or sleet, dry the coat dry. Just do this not over a radiator or fireplace, but at room temperature, hanging the fur coat on a hanger. Before doing this, you need to shake it well.

High temperatures are contraindicated for drying natural fur. Under the influence of hot air, it becomes deformed and loses its shine, and the flesh becomes dry and can shrink.

If the fur is wet through and through, it is better not to experiment and not try to dry it at home. It’s better to take your fur coat to a specialized studio, where specialists in their field know how to fluff it and what needs to be done for this.

After washing

You've probably encountered the problem that after washing, the hood fur on your jacket bunches up into lumps. To make it easy to fluff up faux or natural fur after washing, you need to add a little animal shampoo or hair shampoo to the washing water.

Another proven way to straighten and fluff the fur and give it a natural shine and softness is to add a little table vinegar to the rinse water.

We clean the fur from lumps and traces of dirt and tangles

If there is slush outside and when you come home you see that wet dirt has got on your fur, do not rush to remove it. It’s better to wait until it dries and only then carefully comb out any lumps of dirt from the fur.

What can you do to keep your fur always fluffy?

Do not apply hairspray, eau de toilette or perfume to the surface of fur outerwear.

Perfume that gets on the surface of the pile contributes to the formation of tangles on the fur, which are quite difficult to get rid of at home.

If you notice that the fur has collected in lumps, remove them with alcohol. To do this, soak a piece of cotton wool in alcohol and wipe the pile of your fur coat or collar with it. Move the cotton in the direction of fur growth.

So that in the future you do not have to waste time and energy on getting the fur in order, follow some simple rules.

We wear fur clothes correctly:

  1. Fur experts advise taking your fur coat to a specialized studio every year. There it will be put in order after the winter and cleaned of dirt. Small stains can be removed yourself. How to do it at home.
  2. Try not to carry a bag over your shoulder if you are wearing a fur coat. The strap of the bag will wipe the fur and in its place over time a bald spot will form, which can only be gotten rid of by restoring the product.
  3. Items made from natural fur should be stored in a spacious closet. The fur must “breathe”; for this you need good air ventilation.
  4. When you are wearing a fur coat, try to sit as little as possible. In places where permanent folds form, creases appear. This threatens that the fur in these places will cake and each time it will be more and more difficult to fluff it up.
  5. To make it easier to fluff up your fur coat after summer storage at home, periodically ventilate it in the fresh air, but not in direct sunlight. Read here

A fur coat made from otter or beaver will last you the longest: up to 20 seasons. Mink is slightly less durable: 10 seasons. The shortest service life is for squirrels and rabbits: 2–4 years. But with proper care, fur items can retain their shine much longer.

Taboo when cleaning fur

  1. Fur cannot be washed! If the fur (the skin that holds the fur) gets wet, it can become rough and cracked. In this case, the product becomes deformed and becomes bald.
  2. Fur should not be dried with a hairdryer, on a radiator or in direct sunlight! Only possible outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
  3. Fur is not allowed! Even from the inside out.
  4. Fur cannot be cleaned with household chemicals to remove rust, washing powders with enzymes, or bleaches.

Before using any other product, test it on a small, inconspicuous area of the product. For example, under the arms.

What to do if the membrane is torn

The causes of damage to the flesh include poor-quality dressing of the skin and old age of the fur. Damage to the underside of the model is a consequence of improper care. To cope with the problem, simply sew up the fur. For this purpose, it is recommended to choose a furrier's stitch. To do this you should do the following:

  1. Fold the flesh. In this case, the pile should be directed inward.
  2. Sew from right to left. This stitch resembles a regular overlock stitch. The key difference is that the needle is stuck into the same area twice. As a result, the connection area from the inside becomes almost flat.
  3. After the darning is completed, the fur coat should be unrolled and the seam smoothed with a moistened thimble.

By following these simple steps, you will be able to make the fixation area as invisible as possible. If suturing the mesh fails and it continues to tear, the material will need to be strengthened. To do this, it is recommended to stick a thin strip of leather or textile onto the damaged surface. It is not recommended to use superglue for this purpose as it will crack in the area of the tear.

A good option would be to use a casein solution. This substance is sold in almost all hardware stores and has an affordable price.

To glue a fur coat made of rabbit, nutria or mink, you can use Moment glue. A piece of soft and thin tissue must be applied to the affected area. Thanks to this, it will be possible to make the seam much more reliable.

How to get rid of dust

Even in a well-closed case, a fur coat or vest can become dusty. Therefore, before storing a fur item for storage, and also before wearing it, freshen it.

Spread a damp white cotton sheet on the floor. Place the fur coat on top and beat it thoroughly, first on one side and then on the other. After that, hang it on a hanger and comb it.

If the fur is tangled and matted, spray the item with warm water from a spray bottle and let it dry. Then comb. The pile will fall into place. For the same purpose, you can carefully walk over the fur with a steamer.

Amazing beauty

Today it is extremely difficult to find a woman who would not appreciate the beauty and practicality of a mink coat. This is a truly universal gift that can delight any fashionista. Look at the following photo, a selection of mink fur coats of different colors and models.

But the beauty of fur clothing can fade too quickly if it is not treated with due attention. Do not care for it and do not organize the product for proper storage, as well as expose it to negative environmental factors.

How to restore shine to fur

To make your fur coat or collar sparkle again in the sun, treat it with a solution of lemon juice or table vinegar (not essence!).

Dilute lemon juice or table vinegar in water in a 1:1 ratio. Using a sponge or soft natural cloth, treat the fur. It is important that the sponge or rag is wrung out well. The pile should not be wetted, but rather wiped.

When the product dries, comb it. The effectiveness of this product is especially noticeable on mink.

Another way to restore shine to fur is to use walnuts. Grind the kernels, wrap them in gauze and rub the fur. The released nut oil will refresh the appearance of the product.

In most cases, the measures described - knocking it out and returning the shine - are enough to make a fur coat, hat or vest look like new. But more serious problems can arise with natural fur. It may turn yellow, become greasy, or become stained.

How to get rid of yellowness

Over time, light fur, as well as fur with white hair at the tips (silver fox, chinchilla and others) acquires a yellow tint. The product immediately loses its presentability.

There are several ways to clean fur from yellowness.

  1. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of table salt and ½ tablespoon of ammonia in a glass of warm water. Apply the solution using a well-wrung out soft cloth. Dry and comb.
  2. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide in a glass of warm water. Apply the solution to the product, let dry, and comb.
  3. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of pet shampoo in a glass of warm water. Beat the foam and apply it to the pile using a sponge. After 5 minutes, remove the foam with a sponge or cloth soaked in clean water. Dry and comb.

Products with short pile can be wiped both with and against the wool. On long fur, cleaning agents are applied according to its growth, after which the pile can be ruffled.

When removing greasy deposits and stains, the color of natural fur is also important.

Two ways to smooth a fur coat

  • Steaming is a traditional method of ironing clothes without an iron. Before straightening the fur on your fur coat using hot steam, fill the bath with boiling water. Then carefully hang the product over the bathtub. It is important that the hem hangs at some distance from the water! After this, the product is hung in a dark room with good ventilation and left to dry at room temperature;
  • Take a damp sponge and run over the pile several times. Wet the fur thoroughly and then comb it with a wire comb or wide-toothed brush against the grain, and finally smooth the surface with your hands. As a result, the pile is smoothed out. After completing the procedures, shake the product and hang it to dry in a dark and well-ventilated room. When the fur coat is dry, beat out the clothes from the wrong side. This method is suitable if the fibers are slightly wrinkled after prolonged storage.

How to clean white fur

niknikpo/Depositphotos.com
Starch, talc and semolina help fight grease and greasy stains on white fur. They absorb dirt and unpleasant odors.

Take starch (semolina or talcum powder) and pour it onto the contaminated area. Using a soft brush, distribute the substance between the fibers or gently rub the fur with your hands, as if you were washing. Shake the product well to remove any residue.

The dirtier the fur, the darker the starch, talc or semolina will be. The procedure must be repeated several times until the substance stops getting dirty.

It’s even more effective if you heat starch, talc or cereal before cleaning. This can be done in a dry frying pan or in the microwave.

It is important to remove all remnants of the product, otherwise it will become food for moths. Therefore, the product can not only be shaken well, but also vacuumed with a low-power vacuum cleaner. For example, the kind that is used to clean the keyboard.

Down coats with a fur collar: care details

Let's talk about myths about faux fur for down jackets: they say that it warms even when wet, almost as warm as natural fur, and is much lighter and more durable than the notorious fox, arctic fox and mink edges. Only the last statement is true - faux fur is much more durable. But even natural, with proper care, it will last for decades.

The main goal of caring for a fur collar is to maximize the wear time of the product, preventing it from becoming wrinkled and dirty.

How to remove stains from fur

Stains on fur clothing can have different natures and origins. For example, natural suede bags readily give off the color of fur when worn on the shoulder. You can get dirty with sauce when you eat on the run, or make a blot with a stationery pen.

You can remove stains from dark fur using gasoline (white fur will turn yellow). Refined gasoline with a high octane number. Sometimes it is applied in its pure form, but more often it is mixed with starch or washing powder without enzymes to the consistency of sour cream. A couple of minutes after application, the mixture should be removed with a sponge soaked in clean water, and the product should be dried and combed.

Stains from light fur can be removed using acetone or alcohol, also by mixing liquids with starch or baking soda.

The stronger the dye and the older the stain, the more difficult it is to deal with it at home. If the above methods do not work, do not experiment: take the fur coat to.

How to sew an armpit seam

The armpits are considered a weak point. In this area, fur coats often deteriorate. To cope with the defect, you should take the following:

  • glue Moment;
  • bandage;
  • needles;
  • threads that match the fur in shade.

The simplest damage that can be easily repaired is the tearing of clothing at the seam. In this situation, it is recommended to stitch the fastening area 2 times. It is also necessary to secure the threads of the previous seam well so that it does not unravel again.

If the product is torn and the skin is damaged, you will have to use a bandage and glue. It is worth restoring the model as accurately as possible. Thanks to this, the defect will not be noticeable.

How to clean faux fur

With faux fur products, everything is simpler and more complex at the same time.

Easier because they are washable. Preferably by hand, but it can also be done in a machine using delicate mode (up to 40 degrees, up to 600 rpm) using gentle powders and without spinning.

It’s more difficult because it’s difficult to guess with a mechanical cleaning product.

Vinegar and acetone should not be used to clean faux fur.

Otherwise, you can use all the same methods as for natural fur.

Nothing spoils a fur coat more than folds and creases. Crumpled fur hats and vests look no less deplorable. But don’t rush to get upset! Right now you will learn how to steam a fur coat, no matter how fantastic it may sound at first glance. Do not iron! Namely, steaming. It is absolutely forbidden to iron fur, even if you really want to. And steam is harmless to fur. The leather fabric will absorb moisture and straighten right before your eyes.

Is it possible to steam a fur coat made from a mouton?

Of all the types of fur, Mouton was the most unlucky. It cannot be ironed, and steaming is strictly prohibited. And why? Because mouton is straightened sheep fur. And the sheep, as you know, is lush and curly. What happens to straightened hair in humid weather? That's right - they begin to curl again. The same thing will happen with a mouton fur coat (or hat) after steaming. Therefore, here you have to choose: either you will wear a mouton fur coat, or a curly one.

What to do with the mouton?

There is only one way to smooth out wrinkles on a mouton fur coat - hang it on hangers and comb it against the direction of the pile. You can take a special comb or any other, the mouton is not picky. By the way, the same method can help other types of fur if the thought of steaming makes you feel bad.

Professional secret

More than anything else, any fur loves frost. The frost makes it look prettier and smoother. Frost for fur is like a spa for a woman. Therefore, one way to remove wrinkles from a fur coat is to simply walk in it in cold weather. But this doesn’t mean that you have to walk until you’re blue in the face at -30.

How to steam fur

The choice of technology that can be used to do this is now huge, choose any:

· Banal iron with vertical steam function

Steamer

Steam brush

Steam generator

How to steam fur

The procedure is as follows:

1. Hang your fur coat on comfortable wide hangers that fit it in size.

2. Check for dirt. If there is any, remove it, otherwise the dirt, after steaming, will eat into the fur even more.

3. Fill the iron (or any other steamer) with clean filtered water. And the fur coat will thank you, and so will the technology.

4. Before you start steaming, wait until a uniform stream of steam comes out of the steamer. Drops and splashes are of no use to a fur coat! Minimum - the fur coat will be surprised and get wet, maximum - the fur will deteriorate.

5. Start steaming at a distance of approximately 20 cm and preferably in the direction of the pile. Do a little magic in this mode, let the fur warm up and prepare for the main part of your performance. This is all for his benefit, otherwise you can burn the skin tissue. And wearing a fur coat with a burn will definitely not make you any more beautiful. Therefore, do not rush things, 20 cm and no, no!

6. Has your fur coat warmed up? Now you can bring the steamer closer. About 15 cm is your goal.

7. And the final touch. After steaming, shake the fur coat and hang it on wide hangers, away from other things. Let it dry and straighten out completely. Thus, we bring the matter to an end and consolidate the result.

While the fur coat is drying and recovering, there should under no circumstances be any heating or heating devices near it. And, God forbid, hang it on the radiator to dry. You can’t even make fun of socks like that.

The whole process takes on average 15-20 minutes.

If you are not satisfied with the result, repeat the procedure again.

Steaming sequence

Traditionally, the sequence is as follows: first, small parts are steamed (collar, sleeves, hood), then everything else.

What to do if you decide to steam your fur coat, but the creases won’t straighten out

This happens if the creases are very strong. You can help your fur coat with a comb. Steam and comb it at the same time. If you comb against the direction of the pile, the fur coat will become fuller; in the direction, the pile will even out.

Important!

Don't over-wet the fur! If you overdid it with the steamer, then finally calm down and drink coffee. Let the fur coat rest and dry.

That's all! As you can see, steaming a fur coat is a simple matter of minutes. But, in order to save yourself these 20 minutes and never resort to steaming again, do not store your fur coat in the closet, where, in order to get this fur coat, you have to rest your feet and pull it with all your might. Fur loves space and air. And the SPA, of course. Don't forget about the frosts!

Rules for storing and caring for fur products

If a fur coat becomes wrinkled during storage, this means that the conditions for keeping the fur product during the summer period were violated. You can avoid fur deformation by following simple rules:

  • After each walk, the fur coat should be hung on hangers;
  • if a fur coat is exposed to snow or rain, then before putting it in the closet, you need to shake it off any remaining moisture and place it on hangers to dry it;
  • for the summer, the fur coat should not be folded and put in a box or on a shelf;
  • the fur coat must be stored in a fabric case;
  • You should provide free space around fur clothing to avoid wrinkles.

Fur can become wrinkled due to careless handling of the fur coat during wear. So, if you often sit on a fur coat, the fur on the hem can quickly become deplorable. To avoid this, you should lift the edges of a long fur coat before sitting down.

A fur coat made from a mouton cannot be steamed, because... After the procedure, the fur may lose its shine. The only suitable way for this fur is to let the coat hang. In this case, the fur should be periodically combed in the direction of the pile and against it. The procedure is repeated until the pile is completely straightened. This method is also suitable for mink and other luxury furs.

Before you start steaming, the fur coat must be cleaned, because... Existing dirt can penetrate into the pile even more when exposed to steam.

Each of the above methods is effective, but do not rush to smooth out the fur. Full straightening takes time, so the fur coat should be taken out of the closet a few days before you wear it to go outside in order to correct creases and wrinkles in time.

Until recently, for real men there was a modest list of what they should be able to do in their lives: plant a tree, build a house and raise a son. Today, this list has expanded somewhat due to the increased demands of modern women. Any woman, most likely, sooner or later will demand from her lover... of course, a luxurious fur coat!

So, let’s assume that the man turned out to be real and gave his beloved a luxurious fur coat, for example, made of mink, sable or silver fox. But a lady in such a fur coat must “keep her mark.” You won’t be able to show off luxury for one winter and hang it in the closet. It is necessary that the mink coat does not lose its original charm in the second, third, and so on years.

However, what should you do if next winter the fur on your fur coat is wrinkled and does not take the proper shape? Or, already during the first or second exit, the lady fell under wet snow, then leaned against the wall, the fur took on an irregular shape and dried out. Oh, disaster. Or maybe not. How to straighten and smooth the fur on a fur coat?
