We knit the product
To make a knitted vest with fur with your own hands, you need to start from the back. We begin the process of creating a sleeveless vest by knitting an elastic band. The stitch pattern can be knit 2 * purl 2 or knit 1 x purl 1 as desired. The choice of alternating loops depends on the pattern you want to get in the end. After the elastic band is knitted according to the pattern, you can proceed to creating the back.
At this stage, it is recommended to switch to larger knitting needles so that the finished product is voluminous. In order for DIY knitted vests with fur to fit to size, you need to add loops as you create rows. This should be done gradually, taking into account the design of the product. After the back is ready to the starting point of the armholes, it is necessary to gradually reduce the number of loops to obtain a smooth transition of the armholes.
Note that these recommendations are applicable for creating sleeveless vests and coats from MK or Foxy Fur yarn. If you need to knit a poncho, in this case a slightly different technique should be used.
Having completed the back, we move on to knitting the two front shelves. To get a beautiful vest, it is important to maintain symmetrical knitting. Both parts must be knitted with your own hands according to a pattern similar to creating the back of a sleeveless vest.

How to knit a long women's vest with knitting needles without fastener: diagrams
a light long vest, made with knitting needles, on a girl.
Often, long vests attract craftswomen with their practicality, preserving the warmth and comfort of the image.
Models without clasp are:
- connected by interlacing fabrics in the belly-chest areas
- made of 2 strips - front and back, sewn together
- with freely hanging front strips that are not fastened together in any way
In the first case, you knit 3 fabrics, connecting and separating them at a certain height from the start of work. In this case, the bottom of the product has an asymmetrical edge.
In the second case, knit the front with more patterns than for the back. Such vests are preferable for beginning craftswomen.

Finish by reaching row 3 or 5 (whichever comes first). Knit a decrease row instead.
Decrease row (right side): Knit 1 with two strands of Yarn A, knit 2 together, then knit until the end of the row - 13 (14, 15, 16, 17, 18) stitches in total.

Separating Row (RS): Cast off first 8 (10, 12, 14, 16, 18) stitches for armpit, knit to end for a total of 14 (15, 16, 17, 18, 19) stitches.

- choose knitting needles 1-4 sizes thicker than the thread of yarn
- feel free to stick to openwork patterns
- combine the finished product with clothes of different colors and styles
- insert braids in small quantities and preferably large ones
A mohair vest is almost weightless and accentuates a blouse or turtleneck. On the other hand, you will be warm in it even in cool weather.

Knitted women's grass vest: diagram with description
a gray vest made of grass, made with knitting needles, on a smiling brunette.
Grass attracts needlewomen with the opportunity to create original fur products.
Knit yourself a vest with weed, highlight your originality and your taste.
Before you start knitting with this yarn, learn a number of points:
- prepare knitting needles of different diameters and regular threads, which you alternate with grass through an equal number of rows,
- To ensure that the fabric retains its shape and elasticity during wear, insert a flexible thread in areas with regular yarn,
- Plan buttons for the vest as connectors for the front panels. Or perform continuous knitting of both parts of the product and then add a wide belt,
- change the pattern when working with grass to purl rows. This way the product will retain maximum pomp.
Below are several patterns describing how to knit a women's vest with the addition of grass.

Women's knitted vest with hood: diagram with description
original vest with a hood with knitting needles and a leaf pattern.
A hood on a vest is not only warm, but also original. If you love convenience and practicality in clothing, then you already have a similar model of a sleeveless vest or you have prepared materials for knitting it.
The hood is appropriate on vests:
- from multi-colored yarn
- with or without clasp
- as a continuation of the front shelves
Knit it separately and then sew it to the finished vest, or continue the fabric to the desired height and sew it in a convenient way.

Knitted vest with fox fur patch (stripes). Part 1.
Good afternoon Fur vests have been in fashion for a long time, so we will try to join the fur lovers with the help of simple technology.
To make a vest we will need:
- fur skins (I had 2 steppe fox)
- razor blades (or utility knife)
- a wooden shield or board sufficient to straighten the skin
- pen
- small nails or a furniture stapler with staples
- yarn matching the color of the fur (I used 5 skeins for size 42)
- crochet hook (I used No. 3)
- a spool of thread matching the color of the yarn and a needle for fur (or a regular one)
- salt, water, glycerin, potassium alum
- spray bottle
- measuring cup and scales (with division 0.1)
- hammer (if you are not using a stapler)
- pliers or other tool for pulling out nails
- a brush for combing fur (you can use a shoe brush)
- sewing machine (optional)
- sewing accessories (zipper, buttons, fur coat hooks - at your request)
- lining fabric (if you want a lined vest)
So let's begin.
The vest, which will be discussed further, is quite easy to sew even for a person with little sewing skills! The only obstacle: knitting the vest itself, which takes a long time. However, don’t be upset if you don’t know how to knit. I think there will be craftswomen in your city for whom this will not be difficult!
In addition, you can sew a vest not only from new skins, but also from old fur! The only BUT in this case is the dressing of fur. Therefore, before you take on the vest, check the fur (if tufts are falling out) and the inside (if it is torn).
I immediately ask you to forgive me for the incorrect terminology and other liberties in the interpretation of working with fur, because... I'm not an expert in this matter.
Consider the topography of the skin:
1 - neck, 2 - paws, 3 - ridge, 4 - womb, 5 - side, 6 - rump, 7 - tail.
IMPORTANT : before you start working with fur, remove everything unnecessary in the room in closets or another room, it is advisable to also remove the carpet, because everything will be in the fur, no matter how hard you try!
If your skins are dressed like mine - with stockings, then, turning them with the fur inside out, use a pen to mark the line of the middle along the womb and along the paws
Using a blade, carefully cut the flesh “in weight”, trying not to damage the hairs. We don't cut fur with scissors!!! We cut off the tail.
We “transfer” the line of the ridge to the flesh using pins: we stick them from the fur side into the very center of the ridge, and mark the puncture site on the flesh with a pen. Connect the dots to form a ridge line. This is necessary so that the “pattern” of the fur on the vest is preserved and does not “walk around”.
I think those who are especially lazy may skip my further story until I start talking about lining the skins. Also, I think, those who will use old fur coats, hats, and collars for vests will skip the text. The rest prepare a solution for greasing according to this recipe:
Recipe for 1 liter of water:
- 20 gr. glycerin
- 20 gr. salt
- 3 gr. potassium alum
I did it with 100 gr. I diluted it in hot water (not boiling water) so that the alum quickly dissolved. I waited a little until the solution cooled to 35-40 degrees, poured it into a spray bottle and sprayed both skins. Even this volume was a lot. Pour out the remaining solution!
Place the skins side by side and leave for 30-60 minutes to soak in the solution. At this time, prepare the nails, hammer and wooden shield.
After impregnation, the fur is very elastic and seems to be about to tear when you pull it. But if the dressing of your skin is good, nothing will happen to it!
Let's start straightening the fur (necessary so that the skin becomes smooth, without wrinkles). During editing, it is possible to slightly increase the area of the skins.
So, having slightly stretched the skins in length and width, we begin to stuff the fur onto the shield.
ATTENTION : we pin the skin with FUR onto the shield, board!!!
First we attach the rump in the area of the ridge and hind legs. Then we stretch the skin a little and fasten the top of the skin - fasten the ridge, fix the neck without folds. When editing, we always make sure that the ridge line is straight!!!
Next, we begin to stretch the sides, moving from the LOWER legs to the UPPER ones. As soon as it seems to you that the flesh has become smooth, we stop. In any case, don’t overdo it! The main thing for us is that the central part is even; if the folds on the sides of the skin remain, it’s not a problem, we’ll cut them off anyway and they won’t be used!
To reduce the time of working with fur, I stuffed both skins onto the shield at once, one on one side, the other on the back of the shield. Leave the skins in this position until the insides are completely dry.
Having removed the skins from the shield, we turn them over with the fur facing us and, with a stiff brush dipped in water, “comb” the skins from head to tail, straightening the fur. We are waiting for it to dry.
Those who missed the story about straightening fur can join in.
Now you need to decide on the width of the fur strip. If the fur is thick and the flesh is strong and elastic, make strips 0.5 cm. You can reduce the width of the strip if you have little fur and you are afraid that there will not be enough for the entire vest.
Usually strips from 0.4 - 0.8 cm are used.
We begin to line the skin from bottom to top, numbering each strip.
The last thing we need to do with the skins is to cut the strips, BUT it is better not to do this until the base of the vest is ready. Otherwise there will be a lot of fluff, the fur will cake, the stripes will get confused, etc. and so on.
I’ll write a few more words about stripes here so that later I won’t be distracted by all the intricacies of working with fur. So, when it comes time to cut the strips, you can go different ways:
1 - mode in order, laying out even and odd rows on opposite sides. Thus, we will get the same left and right shelves.
2- It’s more convenient (from my experience) to leave a small tip on each strip, not cut off, as in the photo. It is also more advisable to cut as many strips as you can sew today (I have a baby in the house, so I sewed it in several stages).
This is where the work with fur ends.
In the second part I will tell you about knitting a vest and fur patching.

The poncho will warm you better than a classic vest due to the closed shoulders.
There are many varieties of poncho shapes. However, needlewomen prefer:
- semicircle at the front and back with the highest points at the elbows,
- rectangular wide canvases connected at the lower ribs,
- a solid strip with a hole for the head. The first is fastened at the waist with a belt or ties on the sides in the area of the elbow bend.

What to wear with a knitted mink vest?
According to stylists, a mink knitted vest can be worn with some outerwear items. Adherents of the fashion industry believe that the ideal companion for a mink vest would be a leather jacket or a coat made of fine fabric.
- A young girl will look impeccable if she wears a mink vest over a zipped leather jacket. The priority is to choose a jacket made of leather in a single color: black, white, red, light brown.
- Elegant ladies can easily afford to wear a knitted mink fur vest along with thin coats of a tight-fitting cut and an elongated silhouette. The combination of a dark mink vest and a beige coat, sewn from noble fabric, looks excellent.

Fashionable looks including a mink knitted vest
Fashionistas can safely experiment by creating stylish ensembles based on knitted mink vests. At the same time, it would be a good idea to take into account the tips below regarding the combination of mink vests and basic items from a woman’s wardrobe. This will allow every lovely lady to look irresistible in any situation.
- Knitted mink vests, photos of which can be seen on the pages of fashion glossy magazines, harmonize perfectly with knitted sweaters and cardigans. To make the ensemble flawless, it is advisable to select items in contrasting tones. A white mink looks perfect in the company of a black, maroon, or purple sweater. Brown fur will complement a light coffee cardigan well.
- A turtleneck is deservedly considered a thing that goes perfectly with a mink sleeveless vest. In this case, the principle of contrasting colors described above works. The optimal complement to the outfit would be black formal trousers or a classic-cut skirt.
- Modern fashionistas often wear mink vests even on cool summer evenings. To go to a restaurant or a party, you will need the perfect outfit, including: a mink vest, a red top, and skinny black trousers. To complement the ensemble, elegant stiletto sandals and a clutch bag made of patent leather will come in handy.
- A romantic young lady will look irresistible if she wears a red maxi skirt and a white blouse with a light mink vest. The combination of these wardrobe items will adequately emphasize the femininity of a beautiful lady and demonstrate her good taste.
- For informal events (walks, shopping trips, get-togethers in a cafe with friends), an image that includes: a mink vest, a turtleneck, skinny jeans, and high-heeled boots will be indispensable.
Mink vest and business wear
Today, many office workers increasingly prefer knitted mink vests, clearly realizing the practicality and elegance of such things. Indeed, a mink vest is a win-win addition to a strict ensemble.
- A business lady can't go wrong by choosing a combination of a thick knitted dress with long sleeves and a knitted mink vest. The recommended dress length is mid-knee. For footwear, you should choose an elegant pair of pumps or stiletto boots.
- The currently fashionable pencil skirt, worn with a mink vest, is also a good option for a business woman. Under a knitted mink vest it would be appropriate to wear a formal golf shirt, a classic blouse or a shirt of a laconic cut.
- Stylists don't mind wearing a mink sleeveless vest with a business pantsuit. In this case, the waist can be emphasized with a narrow or wide belt.

The right choice of accessories for a knitted mink fur vest is a guarantee of success
A mink knitted vest is a self-sufficient thing that does not tolerate an abundance of flashy cheap jewelry. When choosing accessories to go with it, a fashionista should give preference to products of laconic design made of precious metals - gold, silver.
A well-chosen ensemble, including a luxurious mink vest, is guaranteed to emphasize the charm of its owner and make her stand out from other representatives of the fair sex. A great selection of clothes and accessories that match a vest made of knitted mink fur will be the key to success for any woman.
